Biography

Duan Weiqiang, Level IV Expert in the Department of Burn and Plastic Surgery at West China Hospital, Associate Professor, and Doctor of Medicine. He is a member of the Pediatric Plastic Surgery Branch of the Chinese Society of Plastic Surgery and Deputy Head of the Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Group of Sichuan Province. He is also a lecturer for Sichuan Province in the Oculoplastic Surgery Lecture Tour of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association. He graduated in 1998 from the former West China University of Medical Sciences (West China Medical Center, Sichuan University) and has since worked in the Department of Burn and Plastic Surgery at West China Hospital. In 2015, he pursued further training at Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital. He has extensive clinical experience and developed a Z-shaped opposing V-Y advancement flap surgical method for correcting Tanzer type 2b severe cupped ear deformity, and improved the orbital septum release method in internal lower blepharoplasty and the management of the levator palpebrae superioris and conjoint tendon sheath in ptosis correction surgery.
